Father God, I thank You for Your word in 1 Peter 5:7. So right now I cast all my cares, all my worries, all my doubts, all my fears. Lord, I give them to You.
Father, help me. Help me out of this depression. Your word says You heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds, so I bring You this heaviness I'm carrying. I know Your prophet Elijah sank this low too, and You didn't scold him. You told him to rest, to recover, to lift his eyes. Meet me like that.
I bring You the lies depression tells me, and I trade them for the truth of who You are. Like David in 1 Samuel 30:6, I choose to encourage myself in You. I thank You that this too shall pass, that weeping may last for the night but joy comes in the morning, and that the joy of the Lord is my strength. You give beauty for ashes. So I thank You that this depression will lift and Your joy will come. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
