0:58 min prayer
Pray for healing through Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. By His stripes you are healed. Command every organ and tissue to align with His word.
You may be walking through a season of sickness or disease right now. I have been there too, as a cancer survivor, and this is one of the prayers I prayed every single day over my own healing. It's a bold prayer that calls on God as Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, and declares His word over your body. You can ask God for healing with real boldness and trust Him completely at the same time. Pray this one out loud, pray it daily, and let it move your faith off your symptoms and onto the Healer.
A Word Before You Pray
This is a bold prayer, and it's meant to be. When you're staring down sickness, there's a strength that comes from putting God's word in your mouth and declaring it over your own body. That's what this prayer does. It calls Him by name, Jehovah Rapha, the name He revealed when He told His people "I am the Lord who heals you," and it thanks Him in advance for what He can do.
Pray it with everything you have. And as you do, hold onto two things at once. Asking boldly and trusting fully are not opposites. They belong together.Declaring healing isn't about twisting God's arm or proving your faith is strong enough. It's about agreeing with what He says over the fear that wants the last word.
One more thing, because someone reading this needs to hear it. If you've prayed for healing and it hasn't come the way you hoped, that is not your failure, and it does not mean you didn't believe hard enough. Healing can come in a moment, over time, or finally and fully in eternity. God is the Healer in every one of those. So pray bold, keep your treatment going, and trust Him with the rest.
The Prayer
Father God, I thank You that You are a Healer. Your word says that You are the Lord God who takes sickness and disease away from me. By Your stripes, I am healed.
Lord, I thank You that Your healing comes forth speedily, like the morning sun. I speak Your word over every organ and every tissue of my body, and I call them into line with what You say.
I thank You right now, Jehovah Rapha, that You are healing me. And I will praise You in advance, before I see it, because I trust who You are. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
How to Use This Prayer
Pray it out loud and pray it often. There's something different about hearing God's word come out of your own mouth, especially on the hard days. Make it part of your routine the way you'd take your medicine, morning and night, and personalize it, name the part of your body, name the diagnosis, name what you're believing God for.
And keep it next to your treatment, not in place of it. God works through doctors and medicine, and bold faith and good care belong together. On the days the symptoms shout louder than your faith, pray it anyway, slower, quieter, but pray it. Lean on people who will believe with you, and let them pray it over you when you're tired. Pair this with Exodus 15:26 or Psalm 103:2-3, and remember that praising in advance isn't pretending you feel fine. It's trusting the Healer while you wait on the healing.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pray healing scriptures over myself?
Speak God's word over your body out loud, personally and steadily. Pick healing scriptures like Exodus 15:26 or Psalm 103, turn them into first-person declarations, and pray them daily like medicine. Thank God as your Healer, ask boldly, and keep your eyes on Him more than the symptoms. Pair it with your treatment, never instead of it.
Is it okay to speak or declare healing over my own body?
Yes. Speaking God's word over yourself is simply agreeing with what He already says, and Scripture is full of people who declared His promises in faith. It is not about magic words or forcing God's hand. It is lining your heart and mouth up with His truth instead of fear. Do it boldly, and trust His goodness.
What if I keep declaring healing but don't see change yet?
First, hear this clearly. If healing is slow or unseen, it is not your fault, and not a sign your faith failed. You did not bring this on yourself. Keep praying and keep trusting, because healing can come instantly, gradually, or fully in eternity. Stay under good medical care, and rest in knowing God is with you in the waiting.
Why would I praise God before I'm healed?
Because praising God before you see the answer is an act of trust, not denial. It says you believe His character more than your circumstances. All through Scripture people worshiped before the breakthrough came, like Jehoshaphat sending singers ahead of the army. Praising in advance steadies your heart and keeps your eyes on the Healer instead of the sickness.
