Creating Your Prayer Closet

Matthew 6:6 (AMP)But when you pray, go into your most private room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you.

This verse speaks to the environment in which we set to seek. I believe that God is recommending a place of quiet solitude. We need to create a prayer closet. It doesn't have to be in a closet, but a place where God's presence can abide. A place where we can focus and not be distracted. Our prayer life is a private relationship with God almighty and it's not a place for showing off. It's a place of humility and meekness, 2 Kings 4:33 speaks of this space.

One of the greatest lessons I have learned is to give God time to speak. We make the mistake of talking too much and not listening more. God wants you to speak to Him, but more importantly He wants you to listen to Him.
